In the video "Government Can't Fix Healthcare," it states - "Why is the government so bad at healthcare? Why did Obamacare make it more expensive than it already was? Is there a solution? Former Member of Congress Bob McEwen explains." Government health insurance (which is NOT healthcare!) is third-party insurance. In first-party insurance, the buyer is the consumer, and thus is concerned with getting the best quality for the price. In second-party insurance, the buyer isn't the consumer, and thus is more concerned about a lower price than about quality. In third-party insurance, the buyer (government) only pretends to be concerned about price or quality, but in reality is more concerned about getting enough votes to stay in office: it becomes a race to win over the biggest campaign contributors (the medical profession and the insurance companies) and voters. Real healthcare is about taking care of my own health: getting enough exercise and rest, eating the right amount of the right foods, going to the doctor and dentist for regular checkups and when negative symptoms begin to appear, and arranging my own budget to pay for all this. What passes for healthcare in the current political debate is actually handing over the responsibility for taking care of one's own health to a third party ...who in reality only pretends to care about your health but is more concerned about getting enough money and votes to stay in office, making you more dependent on the state so you'll vote to keep them in office. To break out of this destructive syndrome, we need to return to the tried and true method of private initiatives such as churches and other non-profit organizations working with the truly poor and disabled to empower them with new skills and attitudes so they are re-enabled to find jobs and become free and independent members of society. I've been doing this for several years ...and it works! Get the whole story: watch the full video & get our free newsletter: subscribe below! |
