 In her article "Iowa Senate passes bill banning abortions once heartbeat is detected," Becky Yeh writes - "The Iowa Senate voted Wednesday in favor of legislation to ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. Senate File 2281 passed the chamber on a 30-20 vote, and now heads to the Iowa House where Republicans hold a 59-41 majority. If passed, Iowa would be the first state to implement heartbeat legislation, effectively banning most abortions." In a related article, South Carolina panel passes bill to effectively ban all abortions, that state joins Missouri and Kansas with "personhood" laws, recognizing that human life begins at conception. During the infamous "Roe v. Wade" case, Supreme Court Justice Blackmun, who wrote the majority opinion, also wrote that if "personhood is established, the appellant's [Roe's] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life would then be protected." Modern science proves that at conception, a new human being comes into existence, with its own unique genetic code and its blood type often different than its parents'. We don't fully know that the preborn baby exists, however, until the fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus wall and in just a few weeks produces a heartbeat. Then we know a baby is on the way. Meanwhile, on the Left Coast, the crazies have legislated that it's okay to kill crazy people: Oregon passes bill allowing mentally ill patients to be starved to death. Okay, let those hypocrites first practice on themselves what they preach for others, and the same goes for those who advocate abortion. This would end the debate over "Right to Life" vs. "Right to Choose" because the latter party would be eliminated.
