29 May 2020: - Version 6.0A of Agape-Biblia: Added HTML files for the "On the Incarnation of the Word" online course so the user can install this course on his own website. Corrected the "Daily Prayers" page in the "Combo" download module in English and Russian so it will load all of the files correctly.
15 March 2017: - Version 5.0G of Agape-Biblia: Added margins to all text pages in order to improve readability. Corrected the "Daily Prayers" page in the "Combo" download module in several languages so that the user can edit his prayers on this page directly.
19 March 2016: - Version 5.0F of Agape-Biblia: Added the option of "guest" logins to leave their name and email address when answering the discussion questions and quizzes. This way they can study at their own pace and receive replies from the instructor.
Changed the online mail program to FormMail.pl (a Perl script), that I've modified so that my online students can send discussion emails directly to our Google Groups addresses, and so that my Russian-language students' discussion emails appear in normal Russian encoding.
8 January 2016: - Version 5.0E of Agape-Biblia: Corrected and activated a script to limit students to one chance for taking the 60-minute exams, adding a method and instructions on how to reset the system to let an individual student continue with the exam if he/she timed out and gives the instructor a valid reason. Figured out and fixed a long-standing bug in the pop-up that generates multiple-choice multiple-answer quiz questions, then corrected 100 lessons with such questions.
1 January 2016: - Version 5.0D of Agape-Biblia: Added the User Interface to the Ukrainian Bible by Ivan Ogienko including "God's Plan for Your Life, Daily Prayers, Journal, Scripture Memory System and Read the Bible in One Year" - all in Ukrainian!
Added a NEW MENU where you can choose which language you want to use for your Daily Prayers and for our free online course development system.
And added a timer for tests in our program Social Ministries of the Church and Teach All Nations where you can develop your own online courses.
7 July 2015: - Version 5.0C of Agape-Biblia: Improved the login and enrollment process in "Social Ministries of the Church" and offer 3 methods of teaching the courses:
1. We teach the entire course,
2. The local church leads the discussion group and we grade the lessons,
3. The local church teaches the entire course.
Updated "Teach All Nations" course development system to use the new login files and interactive scripts in lessons. Added The Good News of Jesus Christ - a harmony of the four Gospels - in English. Added a month selector to "Read the Bible in One Year" page to eliminate 2 clicks on the menu button. Also corrected a few "bugs".
11 June 2015 - Version 5.0B of Agape-Biblia: Now when you change the window size or change from horizontal (landscape) to vertical (portrait) mode, the objects will automatically resize to fit the window. We also added the Ukrainian Bible: you can now compare the English text of each Bible chapter with the corresponding Ukrainian chapter (and with Russian, Spanish, German and French)! We need a native speaker of Ukrainian to translate the interface for the Ukrainian Bible, just 4-5 pages. Are there any volunteers? And try the "Social Ministry of the Church (S.M.C.)" link on the top yellow menu!
1 March 2015: Version 5.0A of Agape-Biblia now works on tablets and larger smartphones as well as computers, because it uses a CSS "slider" (mini-hamburger) menu in the upper-left corner of the screen, which slides out when you click on the three-bar button. Version 5.0 also uses HTML5 "objects" instead of frames. If you change the window size or change from horizontal (landscape) to vertical (portrait) mode, simply press the "Refresh" key (F5 in Windows) and the objects will resize to fit the entire window. The Hebrew-Greek Bible now uses Unicode fonts so it works on Macs, tablets and larger smartphones, not just on Windows PCs.
14 July 2012: Version 4.1B of Agape-Biblia sets the recommended frame sizes for each choice on the "My Notes" page, and "Read the Bible in One Year" keeps its location in the user's "My Notes" page.
22 February 2012: Version 4.1A of Agape-Biblia now works with Сhrome, Firefox or Safari browsers. Try it!
16 August 2011:The new HTML5 version of our "combo" user interface in English, Russian, Spanish, German or French lets you type your daily prayer requests, your journal entries, and your notes for any chapter in the Bible directly into the appropriate web pages in your HTML5-capable web browser, and store your info between sessions. This makes it much easier for you to update your daily prayer requests, add a new journal entry, or make notes on any chapter in the Bible. This same information of yours will appear, no matter what language you switch to on our www.Agape-Biblia.org website.
10 April 2009: You can now get Agape-Biblia for the "Bible Quote" program on our Download Everything page.
15 November 2008: Version 3.0A: The file structure for Agape-Biblia, the numbering of the Psalms, and the names for the "zametki" (notes) files and for the English, Spanish, German and French Bibles have been changed so that all Bibles now use the same file structure, Psalm numbering and file names for the books of the Bible. This lets all of the Bibles to link to each other and the "zametki" (notes) to be used by all of the Bibles. Try it out and download it here: www.agape-biblia.org/index-en.htm.
07 August 2008: See our Literature page.
18 May 2008: Version 2.2D: Some minor corrections and improvements.
17 March 2008: Version 2.2C: When you click on "Daily" on the English user interface www.agape-biblia.org/index-en.htm, you'll see "Morning Prayers", which you can change if you download the new module (see "Instructions" under "My Daily Prayer Guide".) Also, you'll see "Discover Original Christianity" and a list of Christian news articles from "Hosken-News Daily" on the left side of the screen. There is a new Russian version of "Hosken-News Daily" as well.
30 January 2008: Version 2.2B: In order to teach our "Practical Ministries" course in one year, the number of lessons has been compressed from 82 to 76 lessons, being taught as follows:
Intro. Session: mid-Jan.-Feb., 6 weeks, 12 lessons,
(1-week break)
1st Session: Mar.-Apr., 8 weeks, 16 lessons,
(1-week break)
2nd Session: May-Jun., 8 weeks, 16 lessons,
(8-week break)
3rd Session: Sep.-Oct., 8 weeks, 16 lessons,
(1-week break)
4th Session: Nov.-Dec., 8 weeks, 16 lessons.
(break for Christmas and New Year)
10 January 2008: Version 2.2A: I compressed our Intro. Session of the "Practical Ministries" course to 12 lessons. Because my wife and I are becoming Orthodox Christians, I deleted from this module the "School of Mission" course (which doesn't conform very well to Orthodox teachings), and fixed some "bugs" in links to items on our Website so that they update automatically in the user interface installed on your computer.
15 September 2007: Version 2.1D: Simply a quick update for our lessons, which begin at the start of October.
15 August 2007: Version 2.1C: Starting now I will develop only new versions for the user's personal files having a Web-interface with all the files on our Website. The most popular page on our website is our "Christian worship songs." Therefore, on the "Мои Заметки" page the new version includes links to our 40 songs: the words appear on the screen when the music plays! Then you can click on the "Мои Заметки" link to return there. The "!Readme!.txt" describes various methods to play background music (or turn it off) while you pray, memorize Scripture and read the Bible using our "combo" module.
This version also includes new links to my book The Ministry Driven Church (see "Проповеди" on the "Мои Заметки" page, or "Sermons" on the "Your Folder" page), and to many Flash films in 7 languages. In addition, the "Agape Restoration Society" module is updated with new photos and ministry center drawings.
14 July 2007: Version 2.1B installs the "Agape-Biblia" folder under the user's name parallel to "My Documents" (not in "Desktop" as in version 2.1A). Also, it includes links between all Russian, English, Spanish, German and French "God's Plan for My Life" and between "My Daily Prayer Guide" in all these languages. This is the **final version** in *.CHM format! Microsoft has crippled the *.CHM help-files!
20 June 2007: Today Agape-Biblia 2.1A was released! This version combines all the files on your computer for "My Daily Prayer Guide", "Scripture Memory Program," "My Journal" and templates for sermons, etc. in Russian, English, Spanish, French and German that you can personalize however you like, as well as all the files for our "Biblical Learning Center" in English and in Russian, and provide online access to "Read the Bible in one year," "God's Plan for Your Life" and all the books, songs, sermons, etc. on the www.Agape-Biblia.org website (about 5 Gb). You can use this for yourself, or even set up your own Distance Learning website. Instructions and templates for developing your own courses are included.
11 December 2006: My new Церковь, направленная на служение (The Ministry Driven Church translated into Russian) is now ready to read online and download.
16 November 2006: Today Agape-Biblia 2.0A is being released! This includes the second printed edition of Agape-Biblia with improved text, and the same text in the electronic version. We strongly recommend that you use Firefox 2.0 and higher to access Agape-Biblia, our courses and other materials online. Also I uploaded "Agape-Biblia-inst-2.0A.exe" for Windows, and "Agape-Biblia-inst-2.0A.zip" for Linux, MacIntosh and other operating systems.
10 Sep. 2006: My new The Ministry Driven Church is now ready to read online, download and order by Internet or snail-mail.
21 July 2006: I have added FOUR GIGAbytes to Audio Sermons. Also I have uploaded "Agape-Biblia-inst-1.6E.exe" for Windows and "Agape-Biblia-inst-1.6E.zip" for Linux, MacIntosh and other operating systems, improving it and fixing a couple of bugs.
01 May 2006: I have uploaded "Agape-Biblia-inst-1.6D.exe" for Windows and "Agape-Biblia-inst-1.6D.zip" for Linux, MacIntosh and other operating systems. I have added a new link "к инструкциям" ("to instructions") which explain how to update your personal daily prayer guide, etc. I have also added a new link "статистики" ("statistics") so that you can see how many visits we have to our website. And when you click on the link "Как прочесть Библию за один год" (How to read through the Bible in one year) in this user interface you will notice some new things: the link "Ресурсы: книги, песни, проповеди, наше служение" ("Resources: books, songs, sermons, our ministry"), and below you will see the link "Разделить экран" ("split the screen") so that you can easily access other Bibles and commentaries while you read the Bible daily.
NOTE: Some Russian versions of Windows XP use the Latin words "My Documents" for your personal folder, but other versions use the Cyrillic words "Мои Документы", so starting with Agape-Biblia version 1.6D we create for Agape-Biblia the folder "My Documents" if it doesn't exist so that all our modules will work correctly. If your Russian version of Windows XP uses the Cyrillic words "Мои Документы", you should download and install "Agape-Biblia-inst-1.6D.exe".
27 Mar. 2006:If you have a mobile device, go to www.agape-biblia.org/mobile/ to try our new interface for Agape-Biblia that will work on Web-enabled Pocket PCs, PALMs and mobile phones. If you don't have a mobile device, but you want to see how it will work on one, click on for Agape-Biblia mobile, or for the World English Bible at www.agape-biblia.org/biblia02/mobile.
01 Mar. 2006: *IMPORTANT!* Do you have a fast Internet connection?
Go to www.agape-biblia.org/sermons - there you can listen to and download all the sermons of our Moscow church for the year 2005. You can also go there by clicking on "Biblical Learning Center," then on "Resources" in the left column. I intend to upload here also the sermons for 2002, 2003 and 2004.
ALSO: I uploaded "Agape-Biblia-1.6C-inst.exe" for Windows and "Agape-Biblia-1.6C-inst.zip" for Linux, MacIntosh and other operating systems. These HTML files are the "zametki" ("notes") files for Agape-Biblia: your personal daily prayer guide, your personal Scripture memory program, your journal for writing down your meditations and examples of how you can develop your own essays, sermons, etc. with links to Agape-Biblia.
By default, "Agape-Biblia-1.6C-inst" lets you keep only your personal notes on your computer and access everything else in Agape-Biblia directly on the 'Net (now about 2.7Gb!) using a broadband connection. And from your "zametki" note files for every chapter of the Bible, you can now link to Bibles in other languages and two Russian Bible commentaries.
If you don't have a fast Internet connection, run "link-to-chm.bat" in your "My Documents/Agape-Biblia/zametki" folder, and then run our "Agape-Biblia.chm" module.
16 Jun. 2005: Yesterday Microsoft automatically updated my Windows XP Pro, and last night I noticed in the compiled Agape-Biblia.chm that many of the JavaScripts which connect our various Bibles and the hypertext links from my personal notes to Agape-Biblia stopped working! So this morning I did a "System Restore" to yesterday before the automatic update, and Agape-Biblia began working correctly again. Then I turned off automatic updates, and selected "Notify me when updates are available." If your copy of Agape-Biblia does not work correctly, you should go into Control Panel and un-install the updates KB883939, KB896358 and KB896422, then restart your computer. But these three "security improvements" will most likely be built into the next version of Windows.
14 Apr. 2005: In version 1.5B some small changes were made to Javascripts in the "zametki/lichnye" folder so that if the "zametki" are installed in your "My Documents" folder, they will play the MP3 files that may be located either in C:\Program Files\AB-CD\Agape-Biblia or on the CD-ROM. The installation program Agape-Biblia-1.5B-inst.exe contains these changes.
6 Apr. 2005: In version 1.5A of Agape-Biblia: we have made the "zametki" (notes) multi-user! Under Windows XP or NT, various users can have their own login to Windows, which gives each user a unique "My Documents" folder. Now more than 80% of our Agape-Biblia users are running Windows XP. When you start the new Agape-Biblia now, it asks "Will you use your personal "zametki" files on the hard disk?" If you answer "yes" it will look for your "zametki" in your "My Documents" folder. If you answer "no" it will look for the "zametki" where you started Agape-Biblia, on the CD-ROM or in C:\Program Files\AB-CD\Agape-Biblia. Next, if you are running Windows XP or NT, it will ask you for your Windows login name so that it can find your personal "zametki" files.
The new installation program Agape-Biblia-1.5A-inst.exe installs the system files for Agape-Biblia in C:\Program Files\AB-CD\Agape-Biblia and some files for creating a CD-ROM in C:\Program Files\AB-CD. We encourage you to copy all of our files and give them to other people! Then the program starts "Zametki-inst.bat" that installs the "zametki" files in your unique "My Documents" folder if you are running Windows XP or NT, or in "C:\My Documents" if you are running Windows 98 or ME. If you have version 1.4A or 1.4B of Agape-Biblia installed in the old default folder of C:\Agape-Biblia, it will move your old "zametki" files into "My Documents".
The remaining modules, files and folders in C:\Agape-Biblia may be moved into C:\Program Files\AB-CD\Agape-Biblia and they should work, but the installation programs in our old modules still install into C:\Agape-Biblia. We will update them in the near future, so check periodically for new modules at our website!
Due to Microsoft's "security" updates, the latest changes to Internet Explorer (and Windows' Help system is actually a part of IE) will not allow users to extract a program from within WinHelp files. This means that all of our install programs must be kept separate from their WinHelp modules. You will find our updated install programs on our website or on our CD-ROM.
4 Dec. 2004: In version 1.4B of Agape-Biblia: Under "Various" (click on "Biblical Learning Center" → "Resources") you can listen to Russian Songs. You can also hear the four Gospels as you read them in these Bibles: 1 Nov. 2004: we discovered that due to Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), the downloading of our installation files stopped working. Correcting this problem took a few hours of research and recompiling 10 modules: all of our Bibles and courses.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) increases your security on the Internet... in fact, so much that our previous email-forms in our courses stopped working! So as of 8 Oct. 2004, new versions of our courses send registered students' answers to discussion questions and tests directly from our server. Registered students can use our Webmail or the email program in their own computer to collaborate with other students on discussion questions. (These revised courses also work with older versions of Windows, and pre-SP2 Windows XP.)
We also updated the module "Agape Restoration Society" (871Кб), adding new sketches (see the Agape Restoration Society article), and updated almost all of the other modules in order to be compatible with Windows-XP.
1 Sep. 2004: In version 1.4A of Agape-Biblia: We've added COMMENTARIES AND MUSIC! You can compare each chapter of the Bible with the commentaries on that chapter by clicking on the chapter title in Agape-Biblia (for example, click on "от Иоанна гл. 1" in the large frame), then open the middle frame and click on the name of the desired commentary in the middle frame.
To listen to seven different MP3 music files while you use Agape-Biblia, click on "приложениями" in the upper-left frame, then select one of: in "Ваш подкаталог" click on: (To download these songs, see "Download our latest modules from one screen!" below.)
Click for More songs! (To listen, left-click on WMPlayer icon; to download, right-click on blue dot.)
Version 1.4A of Agape-Biblia is XP-compatible: any users, even those who don't have administrator rights, can install it and all of our other modules not only in C:\Agape-Biblia as previously, but also in another folder, for example, in "My Documents\Agape-Biblia," and they will run correctly. You can also copy them onto a CD-ROM and they will run.
You can download Agape-Biblia, these commentaries, music files and all of our modules by clicking on "Download our latest modules from one screen!"
